Apologies in advance, but this blog is going to be a bit shorter than usual. I’m supposed to be taking it easy these next few days, doctor’s orders.
I wanted to make sure I checked in and let everyone know what’s been going on with me, and just say a few words of positivity that will hopefully give you a little boost if needed.
I recently had surgery on my bladder. It’s all super technical and I don’t know all the details so I’ll just say this: Thanks to the wonders of modern medicine, I no longer pee a little when I sneeze, cough, pick up a heavy box, or laugh too hard (thank goodness!)
Surgery is obviously strenuous on the body, so I’ve had to take it easy since last Thursday. If you’ve been following me for a while now, you probably know that taking it easy is NOT something that I do very well. I’m generally a very goal-oriented person and I get satisfaction from being active and completing objectives. In some cases, I have no choice but to be active (I’m still a single mom after all, my kids got to eat!) Regardless, I’m doing the best I can to rest.
To make this situation more stressful, my poor little dog Bianca had a stroke right before I had my surgery, and she also needs special attention while she recovers.
The point of this blog is this: I couldn’t get thru ANY of this if it weren’t for the tribe I keep around me. Even in a super stressful time like this where it can be easy to get depressed, I find so much comfort knowing I have that special group that lifts me up, and is there for me when I truly need them. I wouldn’t be able to get thru this without them, so thanks guys!!
I should stop typing now, time for my doctor’s ordered rest.
