Dear 2020…where do I even begin?
This was a year that many plan to wish away for a number of reasons: a global pandemic, racial tension, community destruction, a gruesome election, and the list could go on.
Many times this year I asked myself, “How will we make it?”
And honestly…my sanity.
I watched some of my favorite shops and restaurants close down.
I supported my friends and loved ones when they were laid off from work.
I saw my hometown burn and local businesses come under attack (including mine).
I comforted my teenage kids when they were first heartbroken that they couldn’t physically be in school.
But 2020 wasn’t a lost year. Sometimes the struggle makes us stronger and more appreciative of life’s gifts. And it was certainly a reminder that no matter how mad things seemed, there was still ALWAYS GOOD in the world.
There were GOOD people.
I’m still overwhelmed with the outflow of support for my businesses. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot say THANK YOU enough to our loyal customers and staff for your continued love and generosity. You allowed us to stay open against all obstacles that 2020 threw at us.
There were GOOD opportunities to pursue.
I’m so grateful to have accomplished one of my life-long dreams this year by launching the Fearlessly Authentique podcast and online community. It’s been a goal of mine for many years and I FINALLY did it! Thank you to all who helped me along the way (you know who you are)!
There was GOOD in me.
I can confidently say that I am leaving this year WAY stronger than how I started it. Every fear and every battle has made me into a better version of myself.
So farewell to you, 2020. While you were a constant challenge, it forced us to become stronger. And you were a constant reminder that despite life’s difficulties, there is still ALWAYS GOOD in the world. 💗💗💗
Dear 2021, hello my name is Kimberly. It’s nice to meet you! 😉
